DroneCoders puts you in the pilot's seat. Build, code and fly sub-250g FPV micro and mini-drones — all indoors, all safe, all hands-on. Whether you want to build drones, fly them or code them, whatever your age or ability, this is the club for you.
DroneCoders is about experiencing flight from a completely different perspective. Strap on FPV goggles and pilot micro and mini-drones through indoor courses — it's as close to flying as you can get without leaving the ground.
But it's not just about flying. You'll learn how drones work, how to build and repair them, how to tune and configure them, and even how to program autonomous flight. It's engineering, physics, electronics and coding — all wrapped up in something genuinely thrilling.
There are many ways to get involved at DroneCoders.
Use VR style goggles and see through your drone's camera in real time. Fly circuits, race through gates, and experience the thrill of first person flight. Start with stabilised mode and progress to full acro.
Learn to solder, wire up motors and flight controllers, and assemble drones from component parts. When things break (and they will), you'll learn to diagnose and fix them too.
Modern drones run on sophisticated software. Learn to flash firmware, configure PID controllers, set up rates and tune your drone to fly exactly how you want it.
Program drones to fly autonomously. Waypoint navigation, obstacle avoidance, and coded flight paths — take the pilot out of the loop and let the code do the flying.
Understand the electronics that make flight possible. Receivers, transmitters, video systems, battery management — the tech behind every takeoff.
Once you've got the skills, put them to the test. Timed circuits, obstacle courses, team challenges and fun competitions to push your flying and building further.
All flying takes place in a controlled indoor environment. You'll also learn about drone law, airspace rules, and responsible flying so you're prepared if you ever fly outdoors.
All drones used are under 250g — no CAA registration required for indoor use.
All flying takes place indoors in a controlled environment. No outdoor risks.
Every session is supervised for safety briefings includes goggles for all pilots.
Learn the rules of the air, airspace classifications, and what you need to know to fly responsibly.
